OAU Student Abandon Baby in WC


Moremi hall, Obafemi Awolowo University went wild this morning as female students trouped out in mass to witness the scene of a student who gave birth in the hall toilet(WC) and abandoned it.  The cry of the baby attracted the cleaners to the scene and they immediately raised an alarm while they took the baby to the school heath center not far from the hall. The mother of the baby was no where to be found at as the time the baby was seen, however minutes later students noticed a lady either jumping a fence or being carried out through a barbed fence. the lady was identified as the mother of the baby. she was looking so tired and unconscious and was immediately carried into an ambulance on ground and whisked away. On the way to the ambulance however, the placenta of the baby fell indicating that the birth of the baby was still fresh and she was said to have cut the umbilical cord of the baby herself with a blade. According to information reaching me, she is a part 4 student of agricultural science. The baby has been confirmed to be in good condition.
