Wednesday 12th June, 2013, Declared as Work Free Day
The Ekiti, Ogun, Osun and Oyo State Governments have declared Wednesday 12th June, 2013, as a work free day for workers in the states.
This
was contained in separate statements emanated from the offices of the
state governors. The work free day was declared in commemoration of the
20th anniversary of the June 12 1993 Presidential Election believed to
have been won by the Late Chief MKO Abiola.
The
election which was adjudged to be the most credible in the history of the
nation was later annulled by the military administration of that time and this culminated in a chain of events which led to the termination of
military rule and the institution of the present democratic rule in
1999.
